  • PDF format : @select you can use anyhting to make music. This is 8bit collective though. 8bit. Not "not 8bit" collective. not "anything except 8bit instruments" collective. There are so many options under that umbrella. But using none of those options is "not doing 8bit music". Using at least 1 of those options is required by the user terms for songs uploaded on this website. Uploaded unrelated material is prohibited. But that seems no longer to be enforced as assiduously as it was in the early days. When people would upload just synthesizer, bass, guitars, etc... or just some random techno. The site is supposed to be a refuge from that shit, where fans of 8bit music can listen to 8bit music. Not where fans of 8bit music can listen to anything you'd hear on q101, chicago, illinois, america, north america, western hemisphere radio.

  • PDF format : After listening to some of the recently popular garbage on thsi site (which wasn't even 8bit, or 8bit related. It was just pop music with synths, gtuiars, and drums (and horrible autotune vocals)) i have concluded that you and I are the last 8bit musicians who use thi site. Its probaly time we retire from 8bc, or give up on 8bit like the rest of the site and just use the image of a gameboy as a gimmick rather than an instrument. What do you say, Carl?
