Winter Lotus Memory

Uploaded by mezcel on March 3rd 2008, 08:32 AM

This track was an attempt at Chiptune Music. The lyrics were inspired by an attempted collaboration with Eclecticmix @ sounclick.com and listening to the Vocoder voice synth from Unicorn Dream Attack @ 8bitcollective.com.

It has Glitch, Vocoder Vox (text-2-voice), and lo-fi melodies.
I am still transitioning from my old downtempo/IDM genre from my past. I would like feed back on how to make it more Chiptune.
Eventually I'll publish the updated Chip version.

 • the banana republican : don't "transition", but combine. there is no need to try to be "more Chiptune" sounding. genres are not static entities; they are merely a part of an evolving body we call music and if a body does not evolve it will die. look at the current state of "rock music' or alternative or whatever they are calling it these days--don't know for i really don't pay much attention-- it has, at least on the popular front, died. when was the last time you heard a rock band on the radio or on a video channel, if these channels still are such as they claim, that really moved you? it's been some time for me--with the exception of radiohead, but i don't believe they deserve the damning label of rock anyhow, if they are even, in fact, considered it, but again, i don't know, i pay little attention to the jargon of the corporate world of music. there have been the announcements of the deaths of many genres over the years, and it is always because they remain static, sounding as all other artists within their genre. soak in every sound, brother, and never deny where you came from or you will never go anywhere. i think your song is just fine, and so i encourage you to keep your roots intact, and grow from there. happy tuning to you, banana
