    on September 9th 2009, 09:18 AM
  • arfink : Hmm, nice house stuff. @nestrogen- this kind of stuff makes more sense in a club, where it become background stuff, and gets into your subconscious. Listen to this quietly with some nice noise canceling headphones while taking a relax on a cushy reclining chair to know what I mean about messing with your subconscious.
    on September 9th 2009, 08:37 AM
  • TRASHAPPY! : mate this is deeeep, makes me want to get down low and get down wide! But what really amazes me is how this could so easily fit in with the house music played at most of the clubs I go, despite being produced on a handheld console. Stunner! :)
    on September 8th 2009, 02:35 PM
  • shirobon : as allways brilliant! see you soon tom ;) xxxxx

    on September 7th 2009, 07:25 AM
  • Stevens : N.E.S.trogen clearly hasn't been to many good clubs. This is great, about the closest any chipmusician has come to M_nus territory.

  • Electrotrip : This is crazy for coming out of a nanoloop lol, you sir are a master. Ps.. do you think you could upload TXT adventrue to 8bc maybe? that song of yours happens to be my favorite chiptune, ever. :P
    on September 4th 2009, 10:03 AM
  • PlayMeTape : Hey there henryhomesweet. I'm currently finishing up a game I made for a course I took in C# in which I use two of your tracks (Untill I sleep and GBA Future Tech). I was just wondering if it would be allright if I released the game for download (completely free of charge ofcourse). I will credit you within the game. Also, if it's allright that I use your tracks, I was wondering if you've got a version of Untill I sleep without the singing? It would go better in a game that way. Anyways, all the best Christoffer. christoffer.hedborg@hotmail.com

  • Reteris : Anyone who doesnt like this track can go bounce and grind on a hockey stick, chiptune is about taking limited old technology and pushing it to the limit. Why the hell would we all want to stick to generic bleeps and arps. This track is great. Its not to long you guys should build up your stamina with A State of Trance. And personally i think the sound modification done to stuff coming from nanoloop here is plain nasty.
    on September 1st 2009, 02:43 PM

  • Kid Icaris : i love this. i prefer this new style of yours to your old style so much more.
    on August 31st 2009, 10:32 AM
  • sloopygoop : What a well-stated and gracious defense, HenryH. It's not my favorite style, but what a way to push the hardware. I did enjoy the middle with the bass and clicks, and that mischeivous little melody at the very end.
    on August 30th 2009, 07:53 PM
  • FantomenK : not my piece of cake.. but its a well made track...

  • henryhomesweet : A Huge thankyou for your comments and suggestions lads. Im curious though, what less of a right does this have to belong here than the dozens of other 2.x tracks, korg DS tracks, Nitrotracker DS tracks, sega, snes tracks and other variations of 16-32 Bit music? Not too mention the countless VST flicks with absolutely no regard to polyphony. I think you might be missing the point slightly, this community used to be about pushing these consoles and soundchips to the max. This song is the GBA output only, no added synthlines, nothing. It hasnt even been sequenced, this was played live with the file manager. I do admit that the nanoloop synthesis used is largely FM but that was only to compliment the nature of the song with the dark bassy textures FM can produce. If i filled this with clashing square waves and bleeps would it be more appropriate? If to you it does not soundlike it was made on a gameboy and most of all it sounds like it should not belong here then i have personally succeeded in what i was trying to acheive. Especially in a scene largely populated with handheld music. In this light those few critical comments are very profound to me. Cheers for the words and thanks for listening :)
    on August 29th 2009, 08:44 AM
  • Nestrogen : The production is nice, but I do not understand all of the hype surrounding the track in general. I would murder somebody if I went to a club and had to sit through this.. or anything like it. I guess that I just loathe house/trance... or just all things too repetitious. :SHRUGS:
    on August 29th 2009, 08:20 AM
  • Matt : This was made using only a Gameboy, of course it belongs here. Plus, it's bloody ace.
    on August 29th 2009, 07:46 AM
  • Select : I disagree, if *everyone* on 8BC would make, I don't know, happy hardcore songs or lounge music or jazz without anything really chiptune in it but BECAUSE it was made with software normally used to make chiptune music, it doesn't make the song chiptune (8bit) music.
    on August 29th 2009, 04:12 AM
  • villewannabe : interesting soudscapes :) this is entertaining enough that it kept me away from guild wars with my ears open for 15 minutes
    on August 29th 2009, 03:32 AM
  • FearofDark : retroboytimo You are absolutely right. Therefore I always doubt what song to upload. Because my songs is funk or jazz, instead of 8bit. Eventually all music, except live, it simply set of samples under notes.
    on August 29th 2009, 03:29 AM
  • retroboytimo : I second smiletron on that one, and besides; FearofDark made a lot of mod files which doesn't sound 8bit either, but it was made with trackers (no pun intended FOD, just an example). Tom here made a minimal piece with the limited powers of nanoloop 2.3 . if we go all start dicking around when something's not really '8bit' it's never gonna bring some harmony around here.
    on August 29th 2009, 03:20 AM
  • smiletron : if its nanoloop 2.3 its "at least tangentially related to the chiptune scene," yeh?
    on August 29th 2009, 02:54 AM
  • Adventures in Slumberland : well I'm glad we have music nazis that like to say what should and shouldn't be on this site...seriously, if everything was pure 8bit, this site would be incredibly boring. Reading that something shouldn't be on this site just makes me want to upload some of my nonchip stuff. sorry to rant, I just get annoyed by people making claims as to what's appropriate for 8bc. Also, amazing song.
    on August 29th 2009, 02:46 AM
  • algar : ..... Not that your other songs are boring as hell, but most of the music found on 8bc is ;)
    on August 29th 2009, 02:41 AM
  • algar : Btw, credz for uploading something that isn't boring as hell! :)
    on August 29th 2009, 02:35 AM
  • algar : Nah seriously, you got some skills and I might even consider you awesome at some point, but the bass/bassdrum mix could really use some work!
    on August 29th 2009, 02:34 AM
  • Select : Agreed with cerror, this doesn't belong on 8BC
    on August 28th 2009, 03:13 PM
  • conan<8bit> : Great song mate really, but where's the old get up and dance music you used to make? i miss that :(
    on August 28th 2009, 01:01 PM
  • AlexLuthor : it'd be interesting to hear the 'unaltered' version as well :)
    on August 28th 2009, 12:28 PM
  • Ultrasyd : NL... I don't know much about it, but it can't be a game boy. GBA can produce such a sound ???
    on August 28th 2009, 12:21 PM
  • cerror : Yeah, what's so 8bit about this? It's just plain normal goa/minimal.
    on August 28th 2009, 12:16 PM
  • algar : dude this is bad song its no 8bit at all what where you thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    on August 27th 2009, 10:39 AM
  • henryhomesweet : Massive thankyou everyone! In response to a few comments this song is nanoloop only, recorded with exactly the same set up as the future tech demo. Live mixing and effects with just a touch of post compression.
