Metroid Zebes Landing

Uploaded by gamergod5150 on July 2nd 2009, 07:08 AM

Hello everybody, this would be my first submission...anywhere really. Quite a fan of chip tune and video game music 8 bit especially. This is the Title song from Metroid on the NES redone with an image in mind, just the thought Samus in her spaceship, landing on a strange planet, thunder, lighting, rain pouring on her ship...alone...in the galaxy, to explore. Landing upon this planet, with lush alien plants, life, both beautiful and hostile. A culmination of what makes Metroid especially the first one, one of the greatest of all franchises. Hope you enjoy as much I did working on this.

  • gamergod5150 : Thanks for all the great comments, makes me want to do more, also improve upon this. An extended version would definitely be fun to make I love the Metroid music especially prime (mind was blown as well). I made this in FL studio with various samples for the storm, the water droplets with a block instrument at a higher pitch, just happened to sound like the droplets (some notes offbeat on purpose as rain is random). I wanted to create the sound of rain on a spaceship, leaky or not, as though Samus was landing on the planet then exploring it. For the melody I used NES vsts, pulse, tri, along with some other instruments to make a nice clean, alien ambiance, organic works for the description. Redid the Title melody and added one to accompany it.

  • heathcliff : like it, really epic description, reminds me of the first time I played metroid prime my mind was blown :) However water droplets sound like you would be in a cave, or in a leaky spaceship lol. Some subtle noise to emulate the sound of rain, would really create bring the ambiance to a new level I think.

  • AlexLuthor : Nice, I like how organic it sounds. However some notes seem offbeat, perhaps on purpose but I didn't like it.
