Master Computer (SEGA MegaDrive)

Uploaded by benanderson89 on November 21st 2008, 07:30 AM

6 Channel YM2612 (SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive) music. 5 Monophonic tone channels with the sixth tone channel switched off to allow monophonic PCM sample playback at 8bits resolution at around 15KHz sample rate. PCM channel was simulated using the FPC set to monophonic mode with all the pads set to cut each other. The Tone channels were simulated using VOPM, a YM2612 (6 Channel) and YM2151(8 Channel) chip emulator. I also use the magical 8bit plugin to simulate the PSG chip for the white noise. Enjoy! Constructive Criticism and just general nice comments are welcomed and appreciated.

  • AlexLuthor : This is too short :) I like how raw and vgm-like this soundswith the guitars without getting too noisy like the real thing usually did, and those drum samples sound just like the ones Data East used for Atomic Runner (obscure but great little shooter game with lovely music). For improvements well maybe the bass could sound more full and the comp guitar be a slightly lower volume.

  • Random : Yeeaaahhh! Awesome track! Great style and sound - very authentic SMD in every way :) I wish the lead was a bit louder though, the guitar chords take over a bit too much.
