MY SN76489 emulator - Test

Uploaded by benanderson89 on April 8th 2009, 04:51 AM

A test of my SN76489A emulator which is currently in beta. Unlike other chip VSTi this emulator does not use bit crushers, decimators or samples. This is the real deal, full blown emulation based on the data-sheets of the real SN76489 chip. More information here -> http://www.8bitcollective.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=10863 The song is scrap brain zone from Sonic1 (8-bit version). • chalices of the past : This sounds incredible. Is there going to be a mac port? The only thing is the noise. I'm not quite sure why, but it doesn't quite sound right to me. Having said that, I am partially deaf at the moment...

  • benanderson89 : Yes synthedit but don't start rolling your eyes. :B I'm making this VST properly using logic rather than a pure square through an ADSR, keep an eye on the forum post, I'm about to finish the block diagram for the Tone channel.

  • benanderson89 : The envelopes currently have 12 steps rather than 15, this is being worked on now. More info relating to the emulator is in the forum, just follow the link :)
