alexicore5000 : cheers for the comments :D yeah was having problems with the drums as i used quadraSID for them (along with some castlevania bass drum and snare...didnt make much difference) and its sort of mixed in with the bass...think everything was too loud overall

chronoglyph : i like the crunchyness of the drums - they are coming from magical 8-bit yeah? they could come up a little in the mix... but this is fun as! i really dig the riff at the start and rawness of that section. and how the progression changes at the end to that super epic vibe - real nice yo!
