Move Your Body (25min Live Mix)

Uploaded by Ultrasyd on August 30th 2009, 01:04 PM

Last submission before making a short pause with chiptunes. Not really a new song : it's chiptune, it's a megamix, it's live, hence the title... and it's 25 min long (only 96 kpbs, better quality on my website). So, who was present at this party ? A bunch of floppies and cartridges. An old and venerable Amstrad CPC with Starkos Tracker. An Atari STe, hot like fire, running maxYMiser. A beautiful white DMG with LSDJ. A tiny netbook with renoise for some samples (Atari and Amiga speech) and notes. A little MIDI Keyboard for both controlling the Atari and playing on the netbook. A Xenyx 1002 FX mixer linking them all. It was hardwork but I had a lot of fun with this mix, like live conditions, excepted the fact that I was alone in my room hehe. Enjoy ;)

  • Ultrasyd : Haha, I'm an LSDJ newbie where PDF is a master ! Making a coop with Nordloef, Uoki-Toki, Nullsleep, Ralp or Random would be much more interesting for secret sav files :)

  • Sacrenouille : I have plenty of fun machines to play & mix with but unfortunately no way for now to sync them all. I own a CPC, a kaossilator, a tenori on, a lsdj on dmg, a pc etc... Ok to mix afterward on any pc sequencer but wow, mixing all these live... well done dude !

  • Jredd : This is great man. I think you gave each song the right length and the transitions were pretty killer overall. I hope this gets plenty of likes. It's a great mega mix!

  • Groovemaster303 : Great work man, i've also done a couple of live mixes in my time and it can be real hard work, timing is crucial, I lost count of how many times i've messed up bringing in a new track. This is a great mix full of some of my fave Ultrasyd tunes.

  • SIDboy : ufff brutal!! 10/10

  • Bunnymajs : MY GOD! that 3e song "versus mode" is totally awsome.. love it!
    on August 30th 2009, 11:35 PM
  • Ultrasyd : Hehe AlexLuthor, I guess you are talking about the Amiga speech :) Lonely Robot is the 2nd song. Longer would have been boring, so it's only shortened version of each song. Or with the normal lenght, something with longer transition between the song and more things added would have kept it interesting. I had to try it maybe 6 or 7 times : sometimes a critical error at 20 minutes forced me to restart from the begining xD Even now, you can here some bad things : bad keyboard playing, one or 2 transitions are a bit off, voice played at the wrong time... but it was the best recording I could obtain for the moment. The only real difficulty is launching the Atari : there is a delay of some ms, while Game Boy and Amstrad start exactly when you press play. Speed 125 (6) for Atari and CPC is not exactly the same. By the way I forgot to mention the names of the songs. In the order : Before the End - Lonely Robot - Versus Mode - Fractal Dimension - Target Destroyed - YM Type - Pixelised Life. Thx for comments ;)

  • Mike-the-Knife : Excellent piece! Listened to this while studying and found it hard to do so. Dancing in one's chair does not mix well with studying a psychology textbook if your looking to absorb information. I'll reread m y notes some other time though, for now I'm going to listen to this unfettered by schoolwork... Great Fuxink Job, Yao!!!!!!1
