48 hr challenge - Cowboy Rastafari

Uploaded by Sievert on November 9th 2008, 01:49 AM

big chip challenged me to make a cowboy ska song. "'Ear me now! I's a tell you bout the rudest rudeboy EVER rode dis street. Him wear wide brim hat, and cogs (not cocks) on his feet! Him ride horse into town and carry 6 gun on his side, Listen up den, and hear of the Cowboy Rastafari" LSDJ + Famitracker + shitty out of tune guitar with rusted strings + feeble attempts at dub vocals + Audacity effects + MR-8 for some crap + KP3 for something or other jesus I don't know a lot of stuff. Special thanks to TristEndo for the "YEEEE HAAAAW" samples (which are his voice also).

  • Sievert : @mediashow, the reason for the samples being so loud and dirty is just that theyre dpcm, I have no experience creating dpcm and didn't have time to learn, but I do agree with you, theyre kind of just something I threw in for fun. The wobbling theremin-ish sound is the famitracker triangle channel

  • themediashow : I think I'd want the boom sound effects to be less muddy -- more staccato, they supposed to be gunshots? -- and quieter. Aside from that, this is a fun piece! Excellent use of clean guitar paired with 8bit percussion; nice bassline; and what is that thereminy woobling over the top? Like it.
