A Castle Under Siege - Knight

Uploaded by Norrin_Radd on July 7th 2009, 03:57 PM

Another song for the upcoming game. This one was to be featured around a Knight character, and was suppose to sound somewhat medieval. Of course, when that was suggested, the only thing I could think of was "try and make it sound like Castlevania." Now, I know I say this everytime, but THIS time, I think I have gone too far. I loaded the drums with enough ghost snare hits to make a 70's prog band jealous, I added as many cliche castlevania chord changes as I could muster, and even though some patterns repeat, they are usually different the second time around, more so than usual. I think this may be my most manic piece yet. Also, updated version of Gunslinger coming very soon.

  • Bit_Rat : Like M-H, I seem to have somehow completely skipped over this track-- amazing stuff dude, maybe one of my favorite of your chips so far. :) It's all so... cohesive. Everything gels perfectly and just slides into place. It's like an interlocking brick of chiptune coolness! Hmm... wonder if I can use linebreaks in comments here...? Lemme try... ~Josiah

  • Daemon9623 : I adore this track, absolutely adore it, in every way! Man, the lick at 1:25/1:26 is straight Master of Puppets. I mean that in the haunting "what the fuck was that? rewind that shit!" way that I first felt when I heard the prechorus to MoP and has always stuck with me. The whole piece is just excellent, thanks for being awesome!

  • Norrin_Radd : Damn guys, you'll make me blush (tee hee). ***** µB: I was pretty much blown away by this comment! ***** misfitchris: I can probably say some of this song was just getting lucky. I tend to write a ton of patterns right off the bat, that can't connect one one another. I keep them around just incase they can be fit in somewhere else. In this song it was almost like Lego, the pieces all just fit together so casually. That, or I am becomming more aware of song structure and don't even realise it. Regardless, thanks again everyone!

  • µB : Turns out this is one of my most favourite chip tracks, ever. I'm not getting tired of it in any way, find myself humming it at work, and still can listen to it on repeat for an hour (I had it running while playing SF 3rd Strike, good combo) without once stopping nodding to it. It's just that good. You win.
