  • Griswolds : I got curious on this one because of the name. Had to double check that no satan is in there :D.

  • Jredd : Sorry I didn't get to this sooner man :(. The percussion and the chords are great. The melody is fun, but it seems a bit strange at times. However, I think it adds to the character of this song. This tune has a lot of neat quirky energy. I think it captures the innocence of simple games and the imagination of childhood quite well. Also, Nestrogen, I feel your pain. Try getting overshadowed by Raptor K's Christmas joke tune that now has an insane amount of likes for being meme-tacular and holiday themed. I was literally right above him. It's a shame that 8bc can't take itself a bit more seriously at times, but that's the internet for ya. :) Nice tune man. I enjoyed it :).

  • calmdownkidder : There's nothing ironic about the BRK sample

  • Sparkyboy : Woah that was actually fucking awesome. At first the melody was kinda random, but it stuck later on. I LOVE THE END. The part in the middle I would cut/make shorter. The parts between the choruses (if I can call it that?). But again. I LOVE THE END. My kinda tunes.

  • boomlinde : Alright man, keep doing what you like! I think there are ways for a melody to be unpredictable without being incoherent, though, and even ironically using the BRK sample has become sort of a fad. Next step is to ironically ironically use the BRK sample ;). I'm going to ironically NOT use it in my next song!

  • Nestrogen : @boomlinde: thanks, that's what I was looking for! "Ups" to Chris as well! I am super-happy that the leads sound "placed" on top of the track... and are unpredictable. Oh, and the BRK sample.. was kind of a tongue-in-cheek jab @ people who use it.. and think that it somehow compliments their song.

  • boomlinde : Should note that i don't mean "ornamentation" in the strictest musical sense, but all those tiny details.
    on December 14th 2009, 01:36 PM
  • boomlinde : I don't know man, it doesn't feel like it's heading anywhere to me (regarding structure and melody), so I agree with misfitchris. I like the tom-tom solo breakdown, but it could have been a bit shorter. It sounds like you try to apply all kinds of effects and ornamentations everywhere and it just ends up sounding really incoherent on top of the melody rhythm being really boring... 4th 4th 8th 8th 8th 8th 32nd 32nd 32nd 32nd 32nd 32nd 32nd 32nd 8th 16th 16th bla bla bla bla... Try adding some syncopation to it and make the vibrato and slides sound more human. Also, lay off that damn BRK sample!

  • STereochan : think if that track wasn't released at the same time, you'd get more exposure? no way man, it aint got anything to do with each other but it's a cool track, I give you that:3

  • Emar : nice job on channel restriction, that PWM melody could come down just a SMIDGEN in volume, but other than that its nice and happy

  • Moldilox : @Nestrogen: Are you honestly surprised? All that aside, this is a fun track. I especially like the way it opens. Lots of energy in this one.
