Mushy Boots in the Swamp of Sorrow

Uploaded by Miniclash on March 4th 2009, 08:21 AM

Made with a single LSDJ. A game inspired track yet again. This would be when the party of adventurers are left in a swamp remembering the last boss fight during when a charismatic NPC died. I'm not really sure about how I like or not this track. It's my first try to make a complete tune not revolving aropund the use of loops. Let me know what you think! Any comments greatly needed! :)

  • 2ndself : I love your music and your ethic of making it likereal game music, rather than having heavy beats and things in. Really gives the game feeling...which is good since im looking for music for a game, and this site is my biggest resource :/

  • Random : Very nice song! I also love the middle section, and the phasing that goes on there, and then the panned "staircase arpeggios" - really sweet! Great progression and sound, you've captured the "calm village after the attack of the dragons"-theme perfectly both in sound and composition :) The vibrato (like Zabutom pointed out) sounds a bit off though.

  • Miniclash : Thank you all for your nice comments! :) True that the LSDJ built in vibrato tool is kinda odd. Not as bad as the legato one that I don't manage at all to understand. But still pretty harsh sounding. U may have to look into the dreaded world of Tables to get a decent vibrato. haha. As for the intent, yeah well, I grew up with video game music, not dance music. So I guess that's what comes naturally ;) Thx!!

  • Frostedtreeandsnowyfloor2 : Sounds very full and different than many more LSDJ stuffs a mines (BOM BOM BOM etc... :D) Great track, sound between medieval music and Secret of evermore ambiances...

  • zabutom : refreshing to hear this kind of music coming from LSDJ! very well composed! i love the middle section.. the 'phasing' lead sounds very cool. my only gripe is with the LSDJ vibrato which always sounds a bit off (notes become a bit flat), so i think you could improve on the usage of that - the vibrato on the first note of the melody is not very gentle. it sounds a bit unnatural when applied directly at the start of a note like that, maybe wait a few rows for it? haha.. all in all, well done sir!
