  • Old Comments : 2PLAYER : when i first heard it i was afraid the panned chips would be become ovebearing but they really fade to the back when the rest of the song kicks in adding a great depth to this tune. i dont necessarily like the drum beat at the beginning that just cuts out but the way you build this song up is fantastic. ditch the claps, sounds like they came off some default template, the new kcik you bring in masks them a little, but i really feel like they degrade the potential of this song. hah, great ending at first i didnt like it to be honest but when i went back again and listened for the second time it gives the song such a fresh feeling again. and by the way, great mix of time signatures and superb melody. quite the journey Nintendude : freshhhhhhhhhhh~ Disasterpeace : good! i think it's better :) retroboytimo : man, when I heard this on heartcode, I've had goosebumps, those beats. I really dig the updated version more though. Locusust : Totally amazing Subway Sonicbeat : This is one of my favorite tracks. Period. Eebgoz : Instant classic. Easily one of the best chip tunes I've heard so far. Disasterpeace : Yea I really appreciate that he did that as well, it's nice to get feedback. I'm probably going to leave it the way it is because it's a challenging rhythmic melody and I enjoy that, but thanks Random :) I may mess with the note durations or something. dotdUmmy : This sounds like a futuristic city! ;) I love the claps. I love the ritard at the end. It really grooves hard. FWIW, I have no problems with the section Random referenced. I like the touches of dissonance they create. Plus, I think any melody over a beat in 5/4 would be a little weird. But bravo to him: it's about time someone gave some thoughtful constructive criticisms here! Disasterpeace : Yea I was gonna ask about that... haha Random : Err... "The synth lead from 4:10 or so, which just comes"..?? Don't know what happened to me while typing that really... What I meant to say is that synth lead is really great! :) Disasterpeace : Oh! I see now, thanks for clearing that up. Yea I can see your point for sure, they definitely clash a little being so close in timbre... hmm... definitely some food for thought. thanks! Random : Disasterpeace: I was mainly talking about the composition of that melody (rather than the sound). From about 2:50 to 3:50 mainly isn't really spot on imho... Sorry I wasn't clear enough. It might be that melody being played with that sound, but I think it's the melody itself I feel this way about... The other more arpeggio-orientadet melody, with short cut notes, which is played by the same synth I think works very well. But please understand this is something I would never comment on unless the rest of the song was so great :) The synth lead from 4:10 or so, which just comes MISTER BEEP : Fine song - as usual. The beginning sound exactly like from ZX Spectrum's beeper. :) Keep up the good work. Disasterpeace : thanks man! coming from you means a lot. interesting about the lead, it must be that extra little something that i added to the square wave, kinda gives it a little bit of a nasally sound I suppose. you're the first to mention it, maybe i'll mess with it a little. glad you like it! Random : Daaaamn! I love it! Great arrangement of the whole song, great beat and rhythm, great chord progression, great sound image; the mix of chip sounds with the incredibly sexy synth pad chords, and later on the synth lead is perfect! The more chippy lead, which starts 1/4 in to the song or so, could be worked on though, or removed completely, because it's slightly annoying... I didn't think so at first, but after listening a few times, it kind of gets in the way for all the good stuff going on in the song. It just doesn't fit in very good. Still, amazing track! Disasterpeace : haha yea, he is definitely an influence on my work ... pulsing, ostinatos, what have you, he's all about that stuff. :) firebrandboy : this is incredible. i don't really know of the genre or style but in parts it really reminds me of steve reich. Chip Champion : sexy zombectro : lovely space travel !
