Mega Man X3 - Blizzard Buffalo (Genesis)

Uploaded by DalekSam on January 7th 2010, 04:53 AM

Since I'm new here, I'll have to make myself at home first, but this seems like the perfect place to share my work. Anyway, this is my version of Blizzard Buffalo.

  • LMPFAPO : One of my favourite Mega Man tunes. Ah, how I love this.

  • DalekSam : @sserrac I have tried using TFM, and while I like the instruments that come prepacked with it, I could never adjust to the way it works, or any other tracker. I guess I like the feel of Mod Plug Tracker more. :P

  • TmEE : This is nice, I would have made the lead a tiny bit more quiet and boosted up bass a bit.

  • sserrac : That's some complex stuff right there :P Have you tried using TFM Music Maker? I think it might be a bit more straight forward to make Genesis music on it than the way you mentioned. :)

  • DalekSam : I used a tracker to make an XM, then used a freely available tool called xm4smps to convert it into a format readable by Sonic 1, or any 68k SMPS based game. Though voices don't come with said converter, so you have to get them yourself... ;) That said, unlike some people who use GXSCC to make stuff '8-bit', this require some effort, as of course, you have to work with certain limitations - five to six channels for FM operators, three PSG channels, which only do square waves--and if I want to use hi hats or noise, I have to get rid of one of those squares, and last but not least, one PCM channel for drums. Keep in mind that I can't use chords unless I use multiple channels at once, which is a waste, so I have to plan ahead what channels I would use for certain areas of the song. Glad to see you like it, though! :)
