  • : Ignore Shonen, he has pretty much embarrassed himself enough without me commenting on his ridiculous antics around these forums. I actually quite enjoyed that. Now for some constructive criticism. While I liked the drum sounds, you should try to get some more variation in sounds. The problem with samples is that without some clever editing, it's never a match for the real thing. Some of the leads went off key so I'd give that another look over, but as you said it was created in about a day so it wasn't supposed to be perfect. You've given the credit to the artists you've sampled and you're not selling the song so you haven't violated the Creative Commons. I would check out their website and have a read over the different licenses to keep on the right side of the law though if you're unsure. Finally, ignore users that have nothing constructive to say on here. There are a couple of people who come on here to purely flame when they could be making music or doing something with their lives. Don't let them get you down, and keep uploading!

  • The Sixteenth Hour : what plugin did you use for the wobble?

  • Forever The Win : I really don't have any issue with a little bit of mashup. key fix would be nice and maybe some more deviation from the originals. I really like it when covers include little changeups in the timing of the melody. i.e. a melody line of C_C_B_E_ becomes C_C_BB_E keeping the note order but slightly modifying timing for variation. Even just a spaced out delay on an even-timed melody works. I think something like that would be great applied to this tune and it would help to keep people off your back.

  • 0xFFender : Whoops missed the bit that you only dropped drums + a synth on top of something...not cool. Still sounds good...but really- remix = bit more than that. Shonentune, that sounds a little harsh...will have a look (listen...I mean Mr. grammar Nazi :D) at the originals...

  • 0xFFender : Hey man nice! Though I discourage the use of digital via modern computers/plugins, this is pretty pro! Assuming that's a hardware gameboy with LSDj on those main leads?

  • Heart.Gets.Beat : Ok first of no taking vocal lines is about the least common practice of song sampling due to the difficulties of separating them out. And if I removed the sample from Random in the intro there wouldn't be any anyway. The song was completed in less than a day to give me something to experiment with in terms of production so some info on why it you pain in the ears that would be nice :) because as you can see most of the criticism on here has not been constructive. It just pisses me off the the blatant ignorance and bad attitude when it comes to this issue, I bet if I had covered a commercially released song it would be fine, but because its something from here its 'chip theft!'

  • Heart.Gets.Beat : Very nice mate :) liking the melodies but I think the mix of the drums could be improved upon to cut through a bit more, and perhaps thicken up the hi-hat by doubling it up with another.

  • Heart.Gets.Beat : Ok for starters the only the only sample in the piece is about a 4 second long one in the introduction which I see as reasonable. Everything else has been inputted by me, so no I clearly haven't done what you have said and it is a cover. Therefore your either clearly mistaken or being a blatant hypocrite. The key problem I admit I didn't notice, which is helpful, Whilst acting like a twat is not.
