  • 0xFFender : Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't know why, but I just LOVE the 6581's filter. I do have a 6582A (same as 8580) from Wilba on my desk right now. When I get some money, i'm installing it in another SID module.

  • 0xFFender : hey, thanks hexcrusher! Better not let TK find out how slackly I made the MBSID though ;). Dodgy PSU, taped wires....etc, etc :D. Pics soon!. Also, don't get me wrong about the digital audio sucks thing. That does not mean 8-bit audio, it means common 16-bit audio in modern computers. We are a chipmusic scene(um, right?), using the charecteristics of older machines- 8bitcollective would be just a name in the fact that there is SID music on here. Controlled normally by a 8bit processor does make it 8bit however...and ofcourse, as you see in the logo, a GAMEBOY. The gameboy has (in the WAV channel) 4-bit sound! So let us celebrate the sound of our Amigas, and gameboys, and other 8bit/4bit based machines...but just to be clear, DIGITAL AUDIO WILL NEVER BE PERFECT! I do have one theory though...heheh release soon :D

  • 0xFFender : The MIDIBOX SID (the synth) has an analog output. My computer records audio (makes it digital). Digital audio sucks. This sounds WAAAY better with the analog output and some speakers. I don't have/can't be bothered to build an analog phaser, and...well really, is there a (non tape) way to make an analog delay? That's the *one* pro of digital audio. Better yet, WHO WANTS A TAPE? 8-track?

  • 0xFFender : :O:O:O NICE! :O:O:O Also, lol at Happy Sixty Four lead near the end :D. You really did a nice job with the FM there. FM synths can be very hard to get used to. But when used properly, they sound freaking awesome. FM/Chip IMO are the only things digital should be used for :D. Those drums...WIN.

  • 0xFFender : Same question as swampyboy! I heard this on the compo and until 1:06 I was almost sure it was all c64! I mean, the SID isn't stereo, but there are stereo SID implementations, and even still I thought it was c64+dmg, but no, just DMG. Really impressed dude! Also, the song pwnz. And that delayed highpass is ace. Or whatever it was that is highpassed.
