My music setup: ZX Spectrum48k AY

Uploaded by yerzmyey on March 26th 2009, 07:44 AM

Sinclair was selling ZX Spectrum with a good idea: it's not necessary to buy everything *at once* inside of the computer: it becomes too expensive then (and more and more _huge_). But it's still possible to buy easily additional modules when it's required. This is my music setup: ZX Spectrum 48K, AY-interface, joystick interface and divIDE flash-card/hdd drive. Well, of course divIDE is a contemporary device for Spectrum. :) I call it "Speccy Train". ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

  • yerzmyey : Rio: well, sounds like a good idea, heh - if it appeares possible at all :) (not only because of tempo, but also because of tunning). If You have BPM tempo setting then I would have to start such a tune because we have only standard "tracker" changing of the tempo (standard is 6, faster are 5 and furthers, slower is 7 and more). I would leave some trax silent many times for Your parts, haha. Well, mail me - yerzmyey AT interia.pl

  • Rio : Thats the right hardware.... ooh yeah. I've got similar hardware additions for my commodore (MMC64/RR/MMC2IEC) for SD-Card loading/storing. Are you interested for composing a coop tune.... with 2 parts: AY and SID and merging both record parts at the end? I can adjust speed/bmp for sync play.. if so...one part should be start first :) see you, bye

  • yerzmyey : Ultrasyd: Yo, actually most of music editors for Spectrum use keyboard to move the "mouse" cursor. It's strongly historical here. We use key setup: "QAOP/SPACE" or in some progs - "Q,SHIFT,O,P,SPACE". These keys don't have any other functions in the editors so they cannot be missed/mistaken. Moving on tracks - cursor-keys. However on smaller models we use cursors only with SHIFT (on 128K models using cursors doesn't require additional SHIFT pressing). For You the best would be Spectrum+ 128K or Spectrum +3, I suspect. If You establish any thread on the forum, I will be able to add some screenshots and stuff.
