acrocosm : did you paint that pixel by pixel without using any shapes at all? if yes it's a good start. Don't use gradients, make them yourself or just use a plain color. Gradient on pixel paintings look bad. Also save as gif or png as it preserves the quality while keeping the file size small. I always use gif
