Glowing gameboy mod

Uploaded by NeX on October 22nd 2009, 12:51 PM

another product of bordom, i had some glow in the dark paint so i painted the inside of one of my clear boys. i am pleased with the result but i used a lot of paint, and i didnt have enough to do the back so i want to use a black gameboy back for the back of it (if anyone has one spare hint!)

  • NeX : to be perfectly honest, that isn't the exact pot of glow paint i used, but the one i did use came from the uk and i am in Sweden, but i cant seem to find it any more. but there are others from the US, just search ebay for glow in the dark paint.... tho pro tip, see if you can find spray paint, i used brush paint and it was very hard to get even, also clean the surface, even the smallest bit of dirt will show up

  • NeX : i thought it was strange that no one had had this idea, i would love to see more of them in different colours. the gameboy is white normally, like a DS in real life the colour it glows is more purple, but a green one would be awesome too, anyone thinking of doing this: you really have to clean the gameboy, i soaked mine in meths, and then you have to do the paint in layers to make it white, i did about 10 layers, and then you have to clean it all off again so that the pcb will fit back in.
