Uploaded by 486 on January 4th 2008, 12:22 AM

6v NiMH Cell Phone Battery Pack, hacked for use with my DMG. This battery will power the DMG and backlights 4 a LONG time, and recharges in 30 min. NOTICE: the small potentiometer protruding from the bottom corner of it's body.. this is my lighting dimmer ;)

  • 486 : well.. not sure that the nokia phones run on 6V, but you may be able to power a GBC? most cell phones past the late 90's have smaller voltage. the batt pack here is from an early 90's cellphone. I bought a box @ surplus, but only about 25% of them would charge and hold it :(

  • Raz1r : Lol nice. Maybe I should rip apart that old nokia in my junk drawer?

  • 486 : Ya know how I do! :o actually, this has worked out really well. I have several of these packs. I found that half the batt. was just empty plastic, so I chopped them down. They still slip into the quick charger on the non shrink wrapped end. When in use, the batt is held firmly in place with some military surplus self adhesive velcro from hell!
