Mobile Phone LED's 4 DMG Screen Lighting.

Uploaded by 486 on January 4th 2008, 12:25 AM

the pictures i could get did not do my mod justice. scavenged the tiny LED's from an ancient MOTOROLA cellular/mobile phone. there is a very small potentiometer wired and fixed firmly to the side of it's body (see previous picture post) it's easily adjusted with a finger nail. the LED's are tri-color, in future mods I plan to make the back light color flash in some manner. more info on cell phone LED's http://eepn.com/Locator/Products/ArticleID/32171/32171.html

  • 486 : The light is very usable, but could vastly be improved upon. I'm experimenting with fiber optic lexan light defuser to go around the screen. then I could use 1 or 2 larger RGB LED's and diffuse the light so it would glow evenly around all 4 sides. The cell phone LED's are just way to small for handy soldering. total pain!
