The white one looks the best. Red is neat too. Might fare better with reverse polarization.

Nice diffusion. btw.. add some gels or something to the screen?
Still gotta get some teflon tubing for those resistor leads man.. dangerous having them
just hang there exposed like that.

Fuck. L-tron's right: that red shit looks awesome but also tough to make out. Maybe Jose's reverse polarization suggestion would do the trick. Exciting stuff nonetheless!

This is LED based? Looks very nicely difused, like EL Foil.

I've been working on something similar but that looks rad definitely.

Looks like LED with some diffusive material. Good idea. I wonder how it compares to EL.

Mods are now up at the shop, along with a tweaked interface that will make selecting color options and such a bit easier.
I will TRY to get DIY kits and the tutorial up today. Key word here is try. Very thin on time guys, please be patient.

Absolutely incredible! Will order one soon! Also what is the technology exactly behind this? Unless you want to keep it a secret!

Piglet, these are edge-lit LED type backlight modules, very similar to modules found in cell phones, PDAs... pretty much any modern product using an LCD.
Essentially, it's the same exact concept as earlier versions, just done much more effectively and economically.

Awesome!
